View from from the patio doors

Jim and Mohamend invited us over for a Sunday of Sun,
swimming and as always, good food and companionship.

I just can't get over this new kitchen.
We put the oven to it's first test: I brought
two cake mixes. I had baked my first cake
(Thank you Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker!)
earlier in the week and was eager to repeat the
feat. They were delicious.

The layout is highly functional, yet elegant.
The appliances are commercial grade
and the wood is perfect. I love it.

The skylights give a nice airy feeling to the
double room and work with the two
sets of patio doors to give the
feeling of being outside.

Ah, yes. Then there's the pool.

I love this shot. They were trying to remember some bit of information about one of the landscaped trees, I think.

With the deck, this patio and another nearby, there are plenty of areas to sit and chat. It's a great space.

Note the matching swimsuits   ;-)

Yes, you are buff.

Actually, Moh' wanted to send a nice
picture back to his sister in the Sudan.

Here's Maria and Paul relaxing. We are really vigilant about Paul and sunlight. The big hat is great for keeping off the sun, plus lots of sunblock. With Paul's complexion, it certainly is not as big an issue as with Maria or me (lucky boy), but it still helps to avoid UV exposure.

Paul was finally starting to sit up reliably.

"OK, shot's over, you can let the belly out now."

It's tough to see, but this bush is hosting
a large number of bumblebees.

They have some funny rocks up there in Closter.

Here's the other sitting area.

This view is back towards the master bedroom. They are considering another deck coming out from there (I think).

Yours truly with Jim.

Moh' exhibiting his vicious spiking technique.

Ah, now this is the way to live.

The landscaping out front was incredible.

Note Jim's new truck. My pickup was Jim's until he replaced it with this one last year.

I love this shot. I wasn't sure about the
lamp when I first heard about it, but
I think it's perfect.

I think they have really helped the property values in the neighborhood. Their house was probably the cheapest place on the block until all the work was done.

Paul was pretty happy.

Feed 'em, change 'em, as Andy says.

Paul is crazy about Mohamed, as evidenced in the earlier pictures on our "Weekend Fun" page back in June.
As usual, we had a wonderful time with Moh' and Jim.
They're a terrific couple of people and we're lucky to have them as friends.
