September 2001: early

Labor day weekend at the shore and with family, then a visit from my sister Laura and her son Daniel!

	So, Paul is getting pretty used to the beach. No boogey boarding yet ;-)
Sea Girt has such a great beach. It can get pretty crowded, but there is plenty of room if you walk further from the designated entrances.

Ah, the hat makes it much better. You can see me reflected in his eyes.
	Around this time (7 Months old) Paul was really getting into manipulating things.
Daddy found out that Paul's back is quite ticklish.
	This is the view south toward the jetty. I think we were near high tide.
On Sunday we visited Maria's sister Bobby, seen here with Dad.
	Here are two of the residents at the Irven home.
I love this shot. Paul likes swings and this rope swing is great. It hangs from a high branch, so there is less arc and more travel. Nice.
	So, the following weekend saw my sister Laura and her son Daniel come to visit. We hiked to Indian Cliffs above Split Rock Reservoir. Nobody believes this is New Jersey.
Photography is obviously running rampant through the family ;-)
	Yikes, I hate when they walk close to the edge!
OK, that's better.
	Later, we went to the beach.

	He seems pretty happy.
That sand feels good! Isn't he a darling?
The next day we got news that Daniel's Uncle Curly had died suddenly, so Daniel and Laura went home early. There were going to spend some time in Manhattan. Two days later was September 11th, 2001.
